How iArmour collects, uses, stores and protects personal information.
Last updated: 3 October 2025
Device Services Pty Ltd (ABN 31 620 277 223), trading as iArmour and iArmour Repair (“iArmour”, “we”, “us”), supplies device cases, classroom headphones, PhoneLock pouches and the iArmour Plus program to Australian schools. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). A copy of the APPs is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
What personal information we collect
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. Most of the people we deal with are school staff acting for their school. The information we collect usually includes:
- Contact details: first and last name, email address, phone number, role, and school name and address.
- Order and account details: products and quantities quoted or ordered, delivery details, purchase order numbers, invoices and payment records.
- iArmour Plus and repair details: enrolled device serial numbers, repair requests, fault descriptions, repair history, credit balances and renewal records.
- Communications: messages, emails and call notes when you contact us.
- Website information: technical information such as browser type, pages visited and general location, collected through cookies and similar tools.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information or racial or ethnic origin), and we ask that it isn’t included in messages or repair requests.
Student information and devices sent for repair
We do not need students’ personal information to supply products or run iArmour Plus, and we ask schools not to send it to us. Devices sent to iArmour Repair may still contain student or staff information. Our technicians only access a device as far as needed to diagnose, repair and test it. We do not copy, keep or use any information stored on a device. We recommend schools back up and, where practical, remove personal information from a device before sending it for repair.
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you where reasonable, including when you request a quote, sample, brochure or catalogue, use the contact form, place an order, enrol devices in iArmour Plus, book a repair, email or call us, or visit our website. Sometimes we receive it from someone else at your school, such as a colleague who places an order or nominates you as a contact. In that case we take reasonable steps to make sure you know we have it.
Why we collect, use and disclose it
We use personal information to:
- prepare quotes and supply, invoice and deliver orders;
- provide iArmour Plus, including enrolling devices, managing credit, processing repairs and arranging renewals;
- respond to enquiries and provide support;
- send product, service and program updates (you can opt out at any time);
- improve our products, services and website; and
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We may also use or disclose it for a related purpose you would reasonably expect, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only as needed with:
- iArmour Repair, our repair division, for repair and iArmour Plus services;
- couriers and freight providers, to collect and deliver goods and devices;
- service providers that help us run our business, such as payment, accounting, email, website hosting and IT providers;
- professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers; and
- government bodies or others where required or authorised by law.
We require these providers to protect personal information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
Where your information is stored
We store personal information using Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres located in Australia. We do not generally send personal information overseas. If we ever use a service provider that stores information outside Australia, we will take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled in line with the APPs.
Marketing
We may send you information about our products, iArmour Plus and offers for schools. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time using the contact details below. Messages about your quotes, orders, repairs or iArmour Plus account are not marketing and will still be sent.
Our website and cookies
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on our website. The site may use essential cookies needed for it to work properly. Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and running. Our website loads its font from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your device’s IP address when the page loads.
Our website links to other websites, such as iarmourrepair.com.au. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include secure systems, access controls and limiting access to staff who need it. If an eligible data breach occurs, we will notify affected people and the OAIC as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law. For example, we keep financial and transaction records for at least 7 years. After that, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or anonymise it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. We don’t charge for making a request, but may charge a reasonable fee to cover the cost of providing a copy. If we refuse a request, we will explain why in writing, unless that would be unreasonable.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question about this policy or a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website, with the date it was last updated.
